My son got a little too enthusiastic with a soccer ball in the backyard and managed to put a clean hole through one of our lower-level window panes. I have already gone down to the glass shop and picked up the replacement "double-strength" pane, and they even did the precision cutting for me so the dimensions are exactly right for the frame.
The problem is that I am a software engineer by trade and I am completely out of my element when it comes to "physical" debugging like this. I’ve been staring at the old glazing putty and the "push-in" points for twenty minutes, and I’m worried I’ll just end up cracking the new glass if I try to force it into the sash myself. It is a very small job that should only take about 30 to 45 minutes if you know how to seat the glass and apply a clean bead of sealant.
I have the new glass, the points, and the putty ready to go at the house. I am happy to pay $70 for the quick assist just to get this closed up before the weather turns.
