Selling my 2024 Giant Trance Advanced 29 frame, size large, with a new/unridden Fox Float DPS shock. Giant calls this paint scheme "Sustained Gray," but everyone I know always called it "tribal tattoo." I purchased this frame new in April 2024 and rode it until September 2025. The frame has typical minor cosmetic damage but no functional problems. It received regular maintenance while I owned it. All bearings are in good condition. Very fun trail bike that punches above its weight on steeper trails.
I've included pictures of the most notable paint chips or scratches. On some of the places where paint chipped away, I used a tiny bit of clear epoxy to keep the edges of the paint from flaking any further.
Important specs:
- Boost 12x148 rear axle (thru-axle is included)
- Takes a 30.9mm seatpost (I have a 170mm travel new/unused Giant dropper post available if interested)
- UDH; Transmission compatible. 55mm chainline
- ZS44/ZS56 headset (not included)
- Pressfit bottom bracket (not included)
- Internal frame storage compartment
- High/Low geometry flip-chip on seatstays
- Max. rear tire clearance is 29x2.6", according to Giant
- Works with a 130mm or 140mm travel fork
The original shock on this frame was 185x50 mm. This shock is 185x55 -- same eye-to-eye, just a longer stroke. There is more than enough clearance at full compression (I measured before running the stock shock at 185x55). The longer-stroke shock increases the rear travel to ~130mm. If the buyer desires, I can service the shock to add a stroke reducer and bring it down to 185x50.
