Mola or Molas are hand-stitched textile folk art panels from Panama.

The indigenous Guna (Kuna, Cuna, Choco) women of Panama created these panels that formed their traditional clothing. In the native language, Mola means shirt or clothing. It originated with the tradition of women painting their bodies in colorful geometric designs. After the arrival of the Spanish it became designs woven into, painted, or sewn on cotton. The panels were then sewn into clothing articles or sold as trade items.

These 7 panels are examples of the hand stitched technique known as reverse applique which includes embroidery and quilting. They were purchased 30+ years ago.

Online research lists a price range of $35-$75 for a single Mola panel.
Asking $160 for all 7 panels.

Hope someone can either use, add to collection, sell, or decorate with these unique folk art panels.
